We collect the following information when you use ZipLock:

- Lookup history: addresses searched, property data returned, timestamps
- Billing information: managed securely by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers.
- Usage data: searches used, zip codes selected, plan type
- SMS data: your phone number, message content (addresses you text), and message metadata
- Device/browser data: IP address, browser type, and general location (for analytics only)
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide the ZipLock service (SMS property lookups, account management)
- To verify your phone number and authenticate your account
- To process payments and manage subscriptions via Stripe
- To send transactional messages (receipts, search balance alerts, waitlist notifications)
- To deliver SMS responses containing property owner data
- To improve the service, diagnose issues, and prevent abuse
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
3. SMS/Text Messaging
By texting START to our number or opting in through our website, you consent to receive automated text messages from ZipLock at the phone number you provide.
- Message types: property lookup results, account verification, search balance alerts, and service notifications
- Message frequency: varies based on your usage. Each address you text generates one response.
- Opt-out: text STOP at any time to stop receiving messages from ZipLock. You will receive a confirmation message and no further texts.
- Help: text HELP for support information
- Message and data rates: standard message and data rates from your carrier may apply
- Carriers: supported carriers include AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, and most US carriers. Service may not be available on all carriers.
We do not share your phone number or SMS opt-in data with third parties for marketing purposes. Your phone number is used solely to deliver the ZipLock service. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
4. Third-Party Services
We share data with the following third parties solely to provide our service:
- Stripe — payment processing (Stripe Privacy Policy)
- Twilio — SMS delivery (Twilio Privacy Policy)
- BatchData — property owner contact information
- ATTOM — property valuation and analytics
- Supabase — database and authentication
- Resend — transactional email delivery
- Google Maps — map display and zip code visualization
These providers only receive the minimum data necessary to perform their function. We do not sell or share data for advertising purposes.
5. Property Data Disclaimer
The property owner information returned by ZipLock (names, phone numbers, emails, valuations) is sourced from public records and third-party data providers. This data is provided "as-is" and may not be 100% accurate or current. ZipLock does not guarantee the accuracy of any property data returned.
You agree to use property data only for lawful purposes and in compliance with all applicable laws, including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and state do-not-call regulations.
6. Data Retention
- Active accounts: we retain your data for as long as your account is active
- Deleted accounts: data is removed within 30 days of account deletion
- Lookup history: retained for up to 12 months for service improvement
- Billing records: retained as required by tax and financial regulations
7. Your Rights
You may request:
- A copy of your personal data we hold
- Deletion of your account and all associated data
- Correction of inaccurate information
- Opt-out of SMS communications (text STOP)
- Opt-out of marketing emails (click unsubscribe)

8. Security
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including TLS encryption in transit, encrypted storage at rest, and role-based access controls. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

ZipLock is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or through the service. Continued use of ZipLock after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
